Watch The Josh and Kenny Show: Full Story

In a ground breaking attempt for student radio to embrace new media, The Josh and Kenny
show, created by two third year media students, will contain a whole host of visual features
from around campus and within the Crush studios. During the show through the use of
Twitter, listeners will be directed to additional ‘Easter eggs’ for bonus content, as well having
their tweets published onto the screen using the hashtag #jandkshow.

The show itself will be broadcast in audio via crushradio.co.uk and 1278AM in the Hatfield
area, as well as online via facebook.com/joshandkenny on Sunday 12th February between
10pm and midnight.

With many student radio stations having a smaller budget compared to fellow stations within
the industry, the duo are hoping to lead the way and inspire other student stations to follow
the sector and delve into multimedia platforms for radio.

Josh presents the breakfast show on Crush Radio, and is a blogger for the University of
Hertfordshire’s Students Union’s ‘SoapBox’. Josh was also a finalist for the T4 Online
Presenter Search last summer. Aside from presenting he is currently working with BBC
Radio 1xtra on a feature production.

Kenny England is a budding radio producer who currently volunteers at BBC Three Counties
for the BBC Introducing show. Since joining the station he has encouraged the use of
visualisation by videoing a weekly feature and putting it onto YouTube. Kenny has also
looked at different ways to involve social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and
AudioBoo with the show, to help promote it outside of the broadcast slot.
